If you have any idea about how much I adore Hong Kong style desserts, you should be able to imagine how badly I wanted to give Monga Dessert Lounge a try when I first heard about them.
Sadly, my excitement died down as I had my first slurp of this strawberry sago dessert with pomelo. It did not taste as good as it looked. :( In fact, it wasn't sweet enough, and it was so diluted that I could literally taste nothing. Meh.
And their 'Musang King' durian fritters with ice cream made me feel like I was conned, having to pay $10.50 for 5 tiny pieces of flour batter with only a tiny-weeny pinch of durian flesh embedded inside.
I seriously wouldn't mind if the portion was micro-size, as long as it tastes good. But no, this is mega epic fail! A big disappointment for durian lovers can!

One thing for sure though, I'd definitely return for their hawker's waffle topped with green tea ice cream and azuki.
It was so good, I couldn't stop helping myself to more. For someone like me who, quote Jenna, eats like "a mouse with bird's portion only", I think I wouldn't mind having the whole waffle to myself.
Oh, if it's good food, regardless of how stuffed I already am, I can still eat. But I will definitely complain after, about how bloated I am. "Omg, tummy gonna burst d!" - that's my favourite phrase. :P
So yes, if you’re looking for a nice chill-out place and you wanna hang around, and chit-chat till about 3am, head on down to Monga Dessert Lounge. Just remember not to order the durian fritters!
