I bought 2 vouchers as I wanted to treat my friends with what I hoped would be a filling and satisfying meal.
When I purchased the vouchers, I wasn't expecting Noodle Kingdom to wow us. I knew it wouldn't be like a super good meal but I did expect decent food. I mean it's just Chinese snacks like dumplings and buns, how wrong can it go?
Well, very very wrong, apparently.
The dumplings' skin were all horrendously thick and the filling didn't taste good at all. It was just... yuck!!! I'm sorry there are no visuals because even presentation was horrible.
Plate was oily as, and dumplings looked terrible. And you see, I'm doing you a favour because I don't want to traumatize anybody here.
Click HERE if you'd like to see the snack menu that was offered on Scoop On. And here's the list of items that we tried but neither of which we actually finished:
- Pan-fried pork dumplings
- Pan-fried beef dumplings
- Chinese donut sticks
- Pumpkin Cake
- Red Bean Paste Pancake
- Steamed Shanghai Pork Dumplings
- Steamed Pork & Shrimp Buns
- Vegetable Springs Rolls
And everything... yes, EVERYTHING, was simply disastrous.
Can you believe that even the Chinese donut sticks tasted so horrible that after one bite, I just left it as is? I never thought or imagined that even yau char kwai could be THAT bad.
"Choices include Fresh Home-Made Soy Milk, Jasmine Tea, Iced Teas, Grape Juice, Coconut Juice, Papaya Milk, Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Lift and more."And on the fine prints of the offer, we were entitled to a drink each. But when we arrived, we were told, none of the above were available except for Coke or Sprite. Right. Interesting, huh?
If you're trying to gain traction and promote your restaurant using marketing strategy such as the Scoop On voucher, you will need to impress so that your consumers would return.
But I have never, mark my words, NEVER, had such horrible and bad food in my life. And all three of my dining companions said the same.
I left the restaurant feeling completely down, upset and grumpy. It was the worst experience ever!!! It is so bad that when you eat, you just feel like crying. :'(
It really is a wonder how they still manage to survive and start up 4 franchises around Melbourne. If Noodle Kingdom can do that well with such horrible food, I too can open my own cafe. Seriously.
Congratulations, Noodle Kingdom! #1 Winner! |
But 69% actually likes it? I don't get it. I really don't. Oh wells, don't say I didn't warn you. Blerghhhh!!!
i didn't expect quality food when i was there. it was cheap and large. it didn't wow too much... average fare considering the price
ReplyDeleteCourse not, like I said, I didn't expect quality food let alone the WOW factor, but I did expect decent food at the very least. But no, it was bad.
